Maker Faire

Meeting the Make people

In Austin tonight, there will be a Maker Faire Town Hall. Dale and Sherry will be there. These people run Make magazine and Maker Faire. It is awsome they are interested in getting feedback DIRECTLY.

They will talk about what went right at Maker Faire this year. And how to can fix the things for next year that weren't optimal.

Maker Faire is a fantastic family friendly event! It should be on everyone list of things to do when they return.

Maker Faire - Austin 2007

I went to the Maker Faire 2007, a DIY technology, arts, crafts and science event produced by Make Magazine and Craft Magazine in Austin this weekend. It was great! Very different than I was expecting.

Some of the highlights include the Diet Coke-Mentos guys from EepyBird.com, Life Size Mouse Trap, and my favorite, the Wheel of Death. I enjoyed bots, battle ships, art cars, model rockets, human powered amusement park rides, and more crafts and inventions than one could fully enjoy in the entire weekend.

All these people were doing very fun things. I will definitely will go to the next Maker Faire that comes near Texas.

More photos can be found in my gallery, or the galleries of my travel mates, David and John.
